experiments

today i did an experiment, almost to the end of the ten hour of experiment requirement that intro to psych has. ten hours is like twenty episodes of full house. that's a lot.
when i was younger i definitely measured time in units of "full house". anyways.
these experiments that i have been doing are all labeled random names, like "jump", "skip", "alt", etc. i have yet to decode any pattern, for the experiments don't involve any jumping, skipping, or alting.
today's was called "sit".
i decided that i didn't need to write down what room it was, but instead wandered around the second floor of this building knocking on doors whose numbers sounded familiar. i was sure it was an odd number.
when i finally got to the door that was labeled "sit experiment", 232, there was a sign that said, please sit and wait for instructions, quiet, experiment in progress. at this point i was two minutes late.
i then proceeded to sit for two minutes. then i tried to make some noise, but quietly, so that people would know that i was there. then i decided to stand. then pace. then sit. then shuffle the papers i had. then pace.
it was at this point that i came to the conclusion that this was an experiment in annoying people while making them wait and sit.
that would make sense. i was on candid camera.
then i sat for five more minutes searching for the hidden camera and trying to look not that stupid and sort of cute in case i was on camera.
then i got fed up and went to find someone in charge.
then i took the experiment, which had nothing to do with sitting.
the moral of the story is to never assume you're on candid camera, for it will only result in disappointment and destruction.
